SINS is a new series of playing cards by Thirdway Industries, designed by the italian designer Giovanni Meroni, inspired by the Seven Deadly Sins.
There are three decks of the SINS Series:
- SINS Corpus, green and gold foil on dark paper.
- SINS Mentis, black and gold foil on white paper.
- SINS Anima, silver and black foil on red paper. Limited Edit
All the decks will have different tuck boxes, backs and faces cards.
SINS CORPUS is based on the Sins who influence the body, so Wrath (Diamonds), Gluttony (Clubs), Sloth (Spades) and Lust (Hearts).
SINS MENTIS is based on the Sins who influence the thought, so Greed (Diamonds), Envy (Clubs), Pride (Spades) and Lust (Hearts).
SINS ANIMA is based on all the seven Sins – and will be completely red.
Jokers are inspired by Adam and Eve, and will be different in each deck.
It will be launched on Kickstarter 17th February 2017 – There will be a lot of early birds and limited rewards available, and a lot of surprises planned during the campaign.
Here is a comment directly from the author, Giovanni:
Adam and Eve once lived in Eden – they were pure, but they were also unaware. When Eve ate the Apple, she condemned us all, but she also opened our eyes. SINS may be our worst temptations, our dark side – but they’re also the emotion that made us awake, alive and human. SINS are the fuel that drove mankind to greatness. Humans made great endeavours in their name – some full of Greed. Others lured by Lust.
So, is SINS another “evil” deck? I don’t think so. The project have a strong theme and it’s more mature than any other I did, but I tried to see it in a positive way. SINS may be bad, but they also represent the freedom to be human.

I really can’t wait for this to start!
I can’t say enough good things about the story and symbology used in SINS and Eva.
I’m going to keep petitioning for a combined artbook, storybook, and designer’s diary for the SINS and Eva set that I could keep with my collector’s display boxes of SINS and Eva and their coins. It would be such a great show-piece to go along with them.
Anyway, please keep it in mind that you have at least one customer already for such a book.
